Floor-Buffing

Floor Buffing Service

High-traffic areas are prone to dirt buildup and grime, causing scratches and general damage to your floor. As a result, floors can easily develop a worn-out look compared to the rest of your premises. Hard floors may be extremely durable, but they require constant maintenance through buffing, polishing, and waxing to maintain their aesthetic appeal and increase their longevity.

What Does Floor Buffing Entail?

The Oz City Cleaners’ outstanding buffing results are the product of the following steps:
Retreat

Another round of sweeping and mopping to eliminate any residual cleaning solution.

Final Polish

Final polish with our polishing pad for that extra sparkle.

Prepare Floor

This is crucial and we conduct sweeping, dusting, vacuuming and mopping to clear the floor and prepare it for our buffing machines.

Apply Treatment

Selecting the most effective cleaning solution and equipment for the flooring material.

Buff

Treatment of the floor with solution and the buffing proper, retreating and rebuffing areas as necessary.

Buffing vs. Burnishing: What’s the Difference?

Aesthetically appealing floors require more than simply sweeping and mopping. Buffing and burnishing are techniques used to polish floors and maintain the shine on various types of flooring materials such as marble, tile, and hardwood. While both have the ultimate goal of getting shiny floors, they generate different results.
Buffing requires pretreatment with a spray cleaning solution before buffing with a buffer that runs between 175 to 1500 rpm (rotations per minute). While this method is best for renewing the smoothness of your floor, it cannot recreate the glossy wet look that burnishing provides. On the other hand, burnishing takes buffing up to another level by applying more heat and pressure to achieve the wet shine. The equipment runs between 1000 and 3000 rotations per minute.

How Often Should You Buff Floors?

This depends largely on the amount of foot traffic, but we recommend that commercial areas with high foot traffic be buffed on a bi annual basis and a mechanical scrub monthly. It will keep your floors Oz clean and looking new and sparkly and enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of your interior as a result.
